Merhaba! In the morning we will transfer you to airport to your flight to Urfa. Upon your arrival Urfa we will drive to Harran to start our tour.

Harran, situated 44 km southeast of Şanlıurfa near the Syrian border, was an important Mesopotamian trade center as early as 2300 BCE on a road running south to Nineveh in modern Iraq.

The mud-brick houses of Harran used to protect many from the harsh sun. But they were gradually abandoned, along with traditional ways of making the structures. Made from mud, hay and bricks, the beehive houses of Harran in southern Turkey date back thousands of years. With their distinctive domed roofs, these homes protected families from the region’s blistering sun. However, when dams were built along the Euphrates river, its residents shifted from keeping livestock to growing crops.

After visiting we are heading to Gobeklitepe

Archaeologically categorized as a site of the Pre-Pottery Neolithic A Period (c. 9600–7300 BC)

Göbeklitepe is a series of mainly circular and oval-shaped structures set on the top of a hill.

Excavations began in 1995 by Prof. Klaus Schmidt with the help of the German Archeological

Institute. There is archeological proof that these installations were not used for domestic use, but

pre-dominantly for the ritual or religious purposes. Subsequently, it became apparent that Gobeklitepe consists of not only one, but many of such Stoneage Temples. Furthermore, both excavations and geo magnetic results revealed that there are at least 20 installations, which in archaeological terms can be called a temple. Based on what has been unearthed so far, the pattern principle seems to be that there are two huge monumental pillars in the center of each installation, surrounded by enclosures and walls, featuring more pillars in those set-ups.

After Gobeklitepe we will visit Urfa Museum and Urfa Town.
